While the MSRP starts from $27,300 to $34,150, the invoice price ranges from $24,297 to $30,393. Highlander is a four door SUV.

Overview
Toyota launched the second generation of its Highlander crossover utility in a totally new look and design. The 2008 Toyota Highlander is a 4-door, mid sized SUV –passenger car that is available in three different trims, ranging from the Base 4X2 to the Limited 4X4. It can accommodate five to seven passengers depending upon the grade. Most of the trims come with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 270-horsepower engine. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is also standard. The 2008 Highlander is totally redesigned for 2008. Highlander comes with an impressive list of standard safety features. The new Highlander rivals include the Saturn Outlook and GMC Acadia, the Ford Edge, the Mazda CX-9, the Suzuki XL7, the Hyundai Santa Fe and Veracruz along with Honda Pilot.

Toyota Highlander Exterior
Toyota’s California design studios design the redesigned exterior segment of the 2008 Toyota Highlander. As the exterior part is concerned, the latest 08 Toyota Highlander is bigger in all-major dimensions than the previous version it is replacing. It looks more proportioned, with the required curves to offset the angles. The creased headlights, flashy grille and characterless bumper make the Highlander look a bit too slick. The rear bumper is accented with dimpled reflectors on both sides, and it also has a glass hatch that opens independent of the lift-gate. Seventeen-inch alloy wheels are standard. The Sport models have a dark silver grille and smoked-out headlights, while the Limited models have simple headlights and chrome exterior moldings.
