Toyota has also taken care of entertainment aspect well in the new Highlander. AM/FM CD player with MP3/WMA playback capability and six speakers is a standard feature on the 2009 Toyota Highlander and there are an array of optional features that come with the SUV, depending on its trim levels. The Base and Sport models feature a standard AM/FM/CD audio system with six-speakers; while the Limited models upgrade to an AM/FM/six-disc in-dash CD changer with six speakers and MP3/WMA playback capability and satellite radio capability. All audio systems of the 2009 Highlander are equipped with a universal mini-jack.
In addition, the Sport and Limited models feature a standard backup camera which has a 3.5-inch multi-information display. The display includes a backup camera monitor, clock, outside temperature, warning messages, and cruise information, such as average speed, average fuel economy, distance to empty, current fuel economy, trip timer and much more. On top-line models which are equipped with the optional navigation system, the backup camera's images are viewed on the seven-inch navigation screen.
