The 2023 Toyota Highlander is a hybrid-only model year built by GAC Toyota, launched on 10 June 2023 (the AWD Knight Edition went on sale earlier, in March 2023). Every one of its eleven trims uses the 2.5L A25D hybrid with 181 kW system power and an E-CVT, in front-drive or E-Four electric AWD, returning 5.82–5.97 L/100 km on the WLTC cycle. Screens are 8 or 12.3 inches, with 12.3-inch digital instruments on the Flagship. As a used vehicle it is the lowest-cost way into a seven-seat Toyota hybrid, and EVtoU inspects each unit before export.
The 2023 Highlander suits price-sensitive markets where buyers value Toyota's hybrid reputation more than the newest cockpit. It has the same body and hybrid system as later years, so parts and service knowledge carry over.
